It's ridiculous. If you really do your research and I mean pages of research, you will find that 2012 is just the end of one of two Mayan calenders. But if you want to get spiritual about it, they also said it was going to be a "spiritual" shift in 2012. Which honestly, spiritual shifts happen daily.
A lot of people want to move underground by then to protect themselves. Uhm Hello? Since the people that decided "DOOMSDAY" is going to happen pretty much the same way the new movie(2012) is showing, how would living underground help you? The earth would be cracking......?
It reeeeeeeally annoys me when religious people believe in the Doomsday2012. It makes no sense. Since "god"(actually more than one god has said this) told people that the end of the world will happen when you least expect it. So.....The religious people who think the Rapture is happening in 2012. Wake up.
The same thing was happening when the year changed to 1900. Everyone and their mother was so afraid of everything crashing and missiles going off when the year 2000(Y2K) came.
The world was suppose to end 30+ times before it was even the year 1800. It is so tiring to here the same thing over and over again, but stamped with a new date and time. It is seriously all the same. FIRE, EARTHQUAKES, LANDSLIDES, MASSIVE STORMS, THE RAPTURE.
It's like a group of people(way back before the 1st century) were so paranoid, that they spread their paranoia to other weak minds willing to believe in anything and only expecting the worst. That has gone on with time, and that small group of people has turned into a huge group. Scaring mold able minds left and right. I often ask "Wonder how many people are going to kill themselves in December of 2012?" Because "end of the world" rumors have claimed lives before.
It's like if enough people say something scary is going to happen, and repeat it enough, that it automatically means it's true and that it's been written in stone forever and I should have known that.
Then when the world doesn't end and those believers are living under ground and stuff, then what? It'll be like the movie Demolition Man?
How incredibly lame.
