It's the movie I want to rant about. Regardless to fact that they left out a lot of details and compressed a few characters to become one, I would have gone to see that movie, even if it was just someone reading the book out loud. It's the casting I have a problem with(don't even get me started on the makeup and the visibility of SOMEONES microphone).
The Casting:
What the hell? They only characters they got dead on, were Alice and Charlie(Jacob was OK).
Nikki Reed is far to "curvy" to be playing Rosalie, not to mention she does not look good with blond hair at all. That guy they got to play Jasper....really? He has major Douche face. Though he is suppose to be the newest in the "coven", He doesn't need to have a weird wide-eyed face on the whole movie.
The woman they got to play Esme, was ok. But she got the worst makeup of the bunch. Victoria? I am glad they are replacing her in the third and forth movie(with Ron Howards Daughter).
Laurent and James, could have been bigger(as in buff).
Here we go......
Robert Pattinson(Edward). Though he is an adorable guy, Edwards is suppose to be so sexy it hurts. He has great (
KRISTEN STEWART(Bella)........really? You couldn't find ANYONE else? She was bad in Panic Room, she was bad in Speak, she was bad in The Cake Eaters, Into the Wild...(etc). He is not that great of an actress and he mouth is hanging open the WHOLE time in the movie(Twilight).
She stumbles on her words so much as if that were to make her a more convincing actress. She is bland and boring. It's like she read the script once, added some stuttering and BAM! She thought she was good to go. She needs an acting coach or something.
Ok, just forget about the casting now and let us chat about something else....the Special Effects.
The glittering body of Edward...badly made sparkly sweat? The running up the tree, withOUT even really grabbing the tree. Ninja Skills, maybe?(
All in all that movie was lacking a lot. But trust me that would never stop a Twilight fan from watching it more than once(...guilty). The makeup was bad, the acting was OK. The casting...eh. Special effects, 2 out of 10(0). Plus, it was cut like a movie from the 70's. Which, I kind of enjoyed, but not everyone nowadays likes that.
Thank god Hardwicke isn't directing any of the other ones.
